I hope you are doing well and that you have had a great start to the new year.
It is important to know that God wants the best for us, we weren’t created for mediocrity but a life of abundance, and how we start this year, sets the pattern for this year as a year for breakthrough. You have a fresh start, a new beginning, an opportunity to rethink and rewire the way you present yourself to the world.
To make this year a year like no other, you’re going to have to be, productive, focused and inspired, which means you are going to need to be ‘unreasonable’.
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.’
- Be unreasonable in your health and fitness, so that you have the energy to persist.
- Be unreasonable in the goals you pursue, and will realise.
- Be unreasonable in the integrity you live by and the values you follow because doing what’s right never goes out of style.
- Be unreasonable in your encouragement of people and lives are uplifted; Model courage and passion.
- Be unreasonable in the results you will deliver and the projects you will complete.
- And finally, be unreasonable in your happiness and the love you give to others.
The ‘One Thing’ is the best approach to getting what you want, which means going small.
“Going small” is ignoring all the things you could do and doing what you should do. It’s recognizing that not all things matter equally and finding the things that matter most.
When confronted with multiple challenges, David said ‘One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after’, and this scripture underlines the need to focus on one thing at a time, and do that thing well.
This month we are going to be tackling a massive subject called ‘Who am I’, which is one of the major questions in life.
We will look at the human condition, sin, and the pathway to long lasting change.
Sunday the 14th is Valentines Day, and we will be celebrating this in loving fashion, and talking about the #selfie phenomenon.
Sunday the 28th will be our first Cafe Church Service, which will be featuring great conversation, company, music and bacon rolls.
My commitment is to provide the resources you need to feed yourself regularly with the spiritual food that underpins all of the activities that we engage in as a community.
The BCLC website and our Facebook page contains links to audio message, articles and and links to our activities, so please stay connected.
If you don’t already, I would love you to consider contributing to BCLC financially or volunteering, which will helps us to expand our reach.
Here are some highlights from January:
As always I thank you for your unceasing commitment to Bethlehem Church Life Centre, and the wider community that you serve.
Have an excellent rest of the week, and see you on Sunday.
